Definitive guide to dropshipping in 2021 with best practices part III
Published on 23.01.2021 by Lucas Netto
In the third part of the guideline, we will discuss dropshipping and Facebook. Don’t get confused - both industries could be perfect picks. For example, we will take the Shopify platform (for dropshipping) and Facebook advertising (Business manager option) for advertising.
What do you need for successful dropshipping with Shopify and Facebook?
- Get a product from Aliexpress (Suppliers from China to get good profit-margin)
- Create a shop on Shopify or Woocommerce (Paid and free options)
- Start warming Facebook account (Getting likes on posts and pages of FB)
- Spending each dollar on Facebook advertising wisely (analyzing the data - pixel)
Currently, Facebook has more than 2 billion active users every day. It means that Mark’s founded company is a big pool of potential customers. BM (business manager) is a perfect way to promote your shop on Facebook. If you have a business manager, you can easily install pixel (Fb’s source code) on your website and track every visitor. If you want to achieve significant success on Facebook, then the pixel will take your marketing spend on another level.
Shopify or Woocommerce
As we already found the products on Aliexpress, now we need a shop. You can open shops on many platforms. For instance, you can choose Amazon and eBay - open stores on those brands that already have millions of visitors. At the same time, some marketers or businesses want to have full control of the shop, so they focus more on their own shops (Shopify, Woocomerce, Magento, etc.). Amazon and eBay can close your store anytime, so you are not in full control of the shop. Keep in mind that Amazon offers its own pool of users (potential buyers), so it could be a red flag for Amazon if you promote listings on Facebook. That’s why some businesses create their private brands (shops) on Shopify and Woocommerce.
Woocommerce is a free option for digital shops. If you want to have a fully controlled shop, then Woocommerce is the perfect option. Keep in mind that Woocommerce is an add-on for WordPress platform. WordPress powers more than 50% of the websites. It’s also free and easily customizable. Woocommerce is not beginner-friendly, but many communities and YouTube video tutorials are on how to install and optimize. Woocommerce developer team believes that they give you everything to start selling online (check the image - Woocommerce has every possible themes and plugin to start selling online)
Shopify is not free, but it’s perfect for beginners. It’s a platform created for someone who has never touched a website before. If you are just a newbie and don’t know anything about optimizing themes and plugins, then Shopify is a perfect start. They have a private academy where you can learn. Support of the team is also over-the-top so that you won’t be disappointed. Prices vary as there are many options for payment (check the image below - you’ve three options on Shopify)
In the next part of this guideline, we will go through Facebook’s business manager. We will explain to you the importance of pixel code. Stay tuned.
